PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES OF THE CHAIR MODELING FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

 

Membership to the Chair Modeling for sustainable development helps fund the creation and maintenance of a common infrastructure bringing together the two founders laboratories (CMA/MINES ParisTech et CIRED/Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées-AgroParisTech) around the development of prospective tools for modeling and decision-support.

In addition to various actions for coordination, animation, and communication, and organization of symposia, workshops and seminars, the Chair Modeling for sustainable development develops activities to unite the modeling resources around the coupling IMACLIM-R/MARKAL-TIMES.

To fulfill its main objective of creation in France of a resource and modeling center serving sustainable development issues, the Chair Modeling for sustainable development focuses its activities on four pillars:

- A platform for long-term modeling

- Operations of specific research

- A scientific animation (models, representation of future and decisions)

- A high-level training system dedicated to long-term planning
